"Chronicles of the Mad Preacher" is a collection of three short quasi-horror stories by author C.T. Sanner. This Kindle e-book was a 127 Kb download (approx. 33 printed pages) and sold for $0.99 at the time of writing this review.The three stories are...

Preacher Abraham and his deceased wife Lydia (now a wraith), are in search of evil men and beasts that have been plaguing several locales in the old west. The purpose... to mete out retribution and justice against unpunished crimes. The first story has a personal side to it as it relates how some bandits raped and then murdered Lydia. They mistakenly thought they'd killed Abraham as well, but to their own misfortune failed to make sure they'd completed the job... now the mad preacher is on the loose and on their trail.

Some thoughts on "Chronicles of the Mad Preacher"...
The Pros:
1.) three very short, action orientated stories.
2.) well written (see concerns below) and done with a nice sense of pace and timing.
3.) Lydia... an angry, revenge driven ghost that adds her own personality to these unusual tales.
4.) endings that were in a word... satisfying, for both the readers as well as our main protagonists.
The Cons: (all minor items)
1.) at location 268 (Kindle) the book refers to 'Duggan' when it should have been 'Connelly'. There were also a couple sentences that didn't flow well due to missing punctuation.
2.) cover art... rather dark and indistinct. Has a 'western' flavor to it, but very limited eye-catching appeal.
Conclusions:
I really liked Abraham and Lydia's tale... this was a story of the old west blended together with a twist of paranormal horror. The results were an unlikely pairing that actually fit together very well. I hope the author decides to continue their stories in future works.
As it is... 4 1/2 Stars.

This work is three tales centering on a preacher who rides a horse and carries a gun after the murder of his wife drives him to the edge. Its horror combined with the wild west (think Pale Rider on Halloween). Because each of the stories is short, its hard to develop the characters and atmosphere fully but I found these quick stories very enjoyable and how more will be coming.
